DR. MARLON WARE

Marlon has faithfully served our great nation in public and private capacities. His military accomplishments include serving in combat deployments as a United States Marine in Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm in 1991 and again for Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2004-2005. He received numerous awards and military decorations for his service to our great nation. He also served simultaneously in operations roles for the Department of Defense. Marlon received an honorable discharge from military service in 2016. His military career lasted from September 1989 to May 2016. While a Logistics and Mobility Officer by trade, he has managed government contracts and expenditures totaling over 15 million. Marlon has also managed over 200 military personnel in numerous operations sections. He has also managed education management and training sections.
Marlon has achieved over 20 years of experience in management, government operations, and international engagement. Although a native of Texas, he happily chose to remain in the sunny state of California after retirement where he lives with his wife and 3 children.

Marlon found his second passion as he began teaching university students at The University of California Riverside Extension (UCRX) as a part-time instructor from 2011 to the present. Marlon is also an instructor at UCRX custom programs that engage seminar-style classes with local corporate organizations. Also, he currently teaches full-time as an assistant professor and assistant dean at Azusa Pacific University, where he also teaches business and management courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
Marlon's teaching journey has exposed him to domestic and international students, which has enriched his perspective and instructional prowess. Marlon is passionate about K-12 education and supports efforts to increase the use of technology and associated learning methods. He continues to work with affiliated organizations to enhance programs designed to uplift our youth and keep them on the path to becoming outstanding and contributing citizens. Such programs include supporting high school to college or trade school programs. Current efforts involve providing annual workshops and informational sessions to educate young males about teen pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases, accountability, and responsibility. Marlon advocates working with our teachers and advancing their ideas as well as being a voice.
Marlon advocates for the well-being of all homeless people as mental health issues, illicit drugs, affordable housing, chronic unemployment, and physical disabilities are issues that continually plague this specific population. Marlon is also passionate about our homeless population, with an emphasis on military veterans. He is actively pursuing ways to help his fellow veterans as their numbers continue to rise.

Honor, courage, and commitment are the mainstays of what he believes as he wears them proudly in everything he does. Marlon is currently seeking to continue his public service as a California State Assemblyman to provide a voice to his constituents. He firmly believes that service to others is continuous and desires to use his education and experience to better the community. Marlon has a strong sense of community support: education, veterans affairs, finance, and environment. His goals are to be thoroughly engaged in these areas and do what is best for the people by advancing bills and simplifying public policy matters that affect the district as well as surveying the tax system and championing change. His value set, along with his strong determination and leadership style, will be value-added to the community!
